The history of the School of Marxism at Guangxi University dates back to 1903, when the first president, Ma Junwu, introduced Marxist classics such as "The Communist Manifesto" to China. During the mid-1930s, Li Dazhao, one of the founders of the Communist Party of China, and Chen Wangdao, the first translator of "The Communist Manifesto" into Chinese, both taught at Guangxi University. In 1950, Yang Dongchun, a prominent Marxist theorist, served as the president of Guangxi University, further advancing the teaching and research of Marxist theory.
Disciplinary Construction
The School of Marxism boasts a first-level discipline doctoral program in Marxist theory and is included in the list of first-class disciplines in Guangxi.
